Living on High – Home & Design Magazine

As featured in this month’s “Luxury Lifestyle” section of Home & Design Magazine, The Lauren Residences in downtown Bethesda “brings elite design to a prime location.” The developer’s vision for the property – luxury and elegance with a modern, yet timeless feel – was masterfully executed by Miami based Robert M Swedroe Architects & Planners servicing as the project Architect and Alexandria based Akseizer Design Group responsible for designing the buildings public spaces and model home along with selecting all unit finishes.

The Lauren experience begins upon entering its expansive lobby, sheathed in limestone with ebony Macassar panels, and a custom chandelier with 300 hand-blown glass tubes. Luxury transforms into indulgence within the building’s exquisite wine lounge, adorned with onyx accents amid a collection of intimate seating areas. Each residence is accompanied by a personal temperature-controlled wine storage locker, situated together in a cozy enclave adjacent to a custom dining table. An inviting sectional sofa allows this versatile space to double as a comfortable screening room.

The acute attention to detail continues on the spacious roof terrace, which offers a full catering kitchen for hosting private events, as well as individual entertainment spaces, “delineated by stone pavers and îpe flooring, with seating areas furnished by JANUS et Cie and Dedon.”  Select residences at The Lauren come with private rooftop terraces replete with outdoor kitchens and spectacular views of Bethesda and the metropolitan area.

Effortless living and innovative technology are woven throughout each residence. The Lauren boasts spacious, open floorplans, with dedicated living and dining spaces. A gourmet kitchen features custom cabinetry alongside Calacatta Gold marble countertops and a matching marble backsplash. A cooking environment befitting a five-star chef awaits with Sub-Zero/Wolf appliances. Beneath the large kitchen island, a Miele wine refrigerator stands upon the wide-plank walnut floors that run throughout the home, bringing a seamless flow to the entire space. A beautiful vented gas fireplace brings warmth and comfort to the open great room.

"A Taste of Manhattan" – The Washington Post celebrates The Lauren

The innovation and sophistication of The Lauren is making waves beyond the borders of Bethesda.

The modern elegance, eco-friendly design, and unparalleled amenities – coupled with its location in the heart of downtown Bethesda – rival any luxury condominium residence anywhere.

In a new feature from the Washington Post, Michele Lerner and Deborah K. Dietsch explore Bethesda’s newest condominium offering, and offer residents the chance to share the experience of life at The Lauren:

“We lived in a single-family home in Rockville for 40 years, but we’re both from New York City and wanted a walking lifestyle and a more urban environment. We looked everywhere over a few years and realized that Bethesda worked well because we can be close to our friends and to the things we like to do. We hardly ever use our car.”
